27 weeks pregnant DC positive LFT

Please be gentle. First time of posting and I'm so so worried.
DC just got positive on LFT, having been ridiculously careful for 18 months.
Besides us being devastated for other reasons about things DC now won't get a chance to do, I'm also panicking as I'm 27 weeks pregnant and haven't been vaccinated yet. I'm not looking to start a discussion about this as I now feel like an absolute idiot for not being vaccinated and living with the guilt of not having protected my little one is just the worst thing.
I am almost 100% sure I had covid back in March 2020 (almost no testing then, but was diagnosed over the phone) and it was horrendous, nearly went to hospital twice but managed to stay out.
I guess my question is futile really, but does anyone have a positive story for me about having had it whilst pregnant and everything being OK?
Please, I already feel more guilty than anyone can imagine about my vaccination status, so please don't attack me for that.
Tonight has been awful. DC is absolutely devastated.

Yes a good friend unvaccinated had it at 35 weeks pregnant and has had worst colds.

LoveWins86 · 20/09/2021 22:17

Really? Was this when Alpha was around or Delta do you know? Sorry for asking.

Aw I didn't want to read and run OP so just wanted to send 🤗 💐
Don't be hard on yourself for not getting vaccinated, and try and focus on staying as healthy as you can drinking plenty of water etc.
Hope your DC feels better soon x

Thank you so much. DC has zero symptoms at the moment.

You could book vax now.

Bless you , sorry you are feeling so worried. My best friend had it whilst preg with twins (pre vaxxed) and she was absolutely fine . (Babies were just fine too). Her symptoms were just like a classic cold, although she did also loose her sense of taste and smell for a few weeks, which she found a bit strange and uncomfortable . She was also completely exhausted, but that could have just been the pregnancy of course! He 12 year old DS got it too. He was unwell for about 24-48 hours. Vomited a few times and had no appetite. Then bounced straight back to normal. I know there lots of scary stuff out there about pregnancy and risk etc, but the fact is the overall risk remains very low (just slightly more elevated that if you weren’t preg). Also you are only 27 weeks, I think the risk tends to go up much later in pregnancy…

Also if you’ve had covid once before the overwhelming chances are you’ll have a mild or asymptomatic case. There’s lots of evidence to say that immunity from natural infection is actually much more effective than immunity from the vaccines, so you should stop beating yourself up about that too. X

Don't I have to isolate because I'm a close contact?

If you are not vaccinated, then you have to isolate, yes.
