Thick dark positive LFT- ever negative PCR?

I can't do throat swabs (long story that I don't feel the need to explain) but I got a positive LFT this morning, and the line was way thicker/darker than the control line.

Went for a PCR straight afterwards (maybe 1.5 hours after), which was a nose only job too. I do a serious double nasal swab though.

I think I do have Covid, but is there any chance the PCR will come back negative because I didn't throat swab?

I work in a school and I guess I worry my uselessness at swabbing will put others at risk if I get a false negative PCR because I didn't throat swab?

They only swab the nose of young children and positive tests do come back.

I nose swabbed by 2 dcs and both PCR tests came back positive

That was meant to read:

Very likely you have Covid with a positive ltf, even if PCR is negative. I'd definitely do another PCR if first one is negative.

Well that's what I think, surely a crazy dark thick LFT is positive? Work only care about PCRs though.

Thanks all. Didn't have to wait long for results (14 hours!), and I am indeed positive despite just swabbing my nose.

It's written so well, they might be able to understand it even if the Head's not a maths teacher Grin
