Boosters for front line staff?

Any front line staff heard anything about the booster jab yet?? I was jabbed in January, so starting to feel a bit anxious about no immunity as we start heading into the autumn/winter

I read somewhere that you can book online if your second jab was more than 6mths ago. Might be worth a try?

Thirtyrock39 · 19/09/2021 20:24

Yes mine is booked for this Thursday

Carriemac · 19/09/2021 20:26

I had mine n Friday at work ( big NHS Trust)

AnyFucker · 19/09/2021 20:28

Have had a few days off. I expect to see bookings being organised when I am back in next week.

My 2nd jab was March so I am due

superram · 19/09/2021 20:40

My friend who works in a care home had hers today.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/09/2021 20:49

For those who've had them what brand did you get? I had AZ despite being 45 as it was due to health reasons so I was called up earlier than my age band. I'd be due a booster start of November if the 6 month thing is true but would want to have pfizer this time.

Carriemac · 19/09/2021 20:51

All being given
Pfizer I believe

TheHoneyBadger · 19/09/2021 20:56

Oh good. Thanks Carrie. I don't think I'd bother with a booster if it was AZ again - partly because it's not very effective against delta and partly because I'm hoping to have less awful side effects with pfizer.

AnyFucker · 19/09/2021 21:07

Just for the record, I had side effects with Pfizer

WTAFFF · 19/09/2021 21:22

@AnyFucker if you don’t mind me asking, what were your side effects please? I had AZ for my original jabs and had fairly bad side effects with the first jab in particular.

TheHoneyBadger · 19/09/2021 21:32

I am not expecting no side effects but it would be good if they didn't last weeks and they didn't include brain zaps.

OhDear2200 · 19/09/2021 22:13

I was in bed for 2 days with Pfizer. Could barely move, felt sick and had a temp.

OhDear2200 · 19/09/2021 22:14

But only a couple of days so I would take that over what you’re describing

Oh my goodness i had brain zaps around that time and I couldn't understand why as i had only ever had them coming off sertraline. Is it def a side effect?!! I didn't connect the dots.
AnyFucker · 19/09/2021 23:08

@WTAFFF my side effects were like having flu. Muscle aches, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, felt like shit. Quite common even with Pfizer.

The 1st jab was the worst…48 hours of the above. The second was better…just 24 hours of feeling shit

TheHoneyBadger · 20/09/2021 10:17

Same Weevle - I'd only experienced them when coming off of ADs and it was just like that. I found lots of people talking about it online anecdotally.

ZealAndArdour · 20/09/2021 10:21

I had a message last night with a link to book a booster. You can only have it if your second dose was more than 6 months ago though.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 20/09/2021 10:23

strangely i am not eligible
i will have to put my trust in being contacted
