1 positive 3 neg LFTs

My son has covid...v strong result on LFT. I tested myself today, first one was a v feint positive...the following three were negative.
Will go for PCR and fairly sure I have got it...but makes me realise quite how unreliable LFTs are...or do you think the first one was a false positive?

I think you need a PCR to decide.

I currently have covid. PCR positive, LFT negative.

While false negatives are relatively common using lateral flow tests as they are not that sensitive compared to PCR tests,false positives are actually very unlikely. I researched this after my DC had one positive and one negative lft result. If you have had a positive lateral flow test result, albeit a faint one, it is highly likely that the PCR test will be positive.
