Anyone had it twice?

Poor DS14 has covid for the second time. He tested positive exactly 6 months since he last had it. He isn't ill, he just had a runny nose for a couple of days.

He was only tested because he was classed as a close contact to a child in his class who tested positive late last week. He had done daily lft's since then, did the pcr test Sunday, then had a positive lft Monday morning. PCR results came through Monday evening confirming, so there's no mistake.

I didnt even know it was possible to get it again so soon!

Yes I know of people who had it twice, mainly before the vaccine though.

This is what I'm worried about.

My understanding is, you can still pass covid on even if you've had covid recently (in my case 2 months ago) so that means you must have covid again to pass on despite having "natural immunity"? If that's the case will you test positive, can you have symptoms or will you be more likely to be asymptomatic?

It worries me because I keep thinking we've had covid (dd, ds2 and I) and are also double vaxxed (dh, ds1 and I) so should be ok and as Boris put it "bursting with antibodies" but it seems no one really knows the level or length of antibodies.

Sorry for rambling!

Ds 14 similar boat. Had it end of nov, mildly, just a cough, upset tummy. Caught it again may/june time, slight runny nose. Actually got an email of NHS England wanting us to fill in a questionnaire for research purposes. Sadly Ds doesn't always read his e-mails Hmm...

I've had it twice now. Once before and once after the vaccine. It was milder the second time, but still really hard work.

Yes I have although the first time was quite early, when testing was limited, and I didnt meet the criteria for a test. But dr was 99% sure that was what I had. Then got it (confirmed) 6 months later.
