So you think the nose lft tests are just as accurate as throat and nose.

The last few times I've ordered lft tests online I've had different ones than previously and you have to swab both nostrils instead of throat and nose. Has anyone had a positive using this type? Do you think they're just as accurate?

That was meant to be 'Do you think' not 'so you think' apologies!!

It's accepted that their accuracy is slightly less than the noise and throat swabs, but the powers that be deemed that to be more than balanced out by improved tolerance, therefore likely compliance, of the nose only test.

If you prefer, you can swab both the throat and nose for testing. They were originally designed for that, and in fact they'd forgotten to remove the part of the instructions that said not to eat or drink anything for 30 minutes before taking the test.

No idea but got a covid test recently and was specifically told to do nostrils only.

They will likely be just as crap as the other ones at picking up asymptomatic covid cases

My son felt ill last Friday before school. I told him to do a LF test. He used the 'normal' throat and nose swabs. It showed positive almost immediately. He then did one of the 'new' nose only swabs...it showed negative. So I got him to do a third of the 'original' nose and throat swabs...again the positive line showed straight away. PCR confirmed positive same day. The next day - as an experiment (poor boy!) - I got him to do another nose only one...and that one showed positive. So yes, I have doubts about the nose only ones.
