Tested positive with Covid after catching it from my son and it's now currently doing its rounds through my whole house despite trying to stop it and taking as much precautions as I can. My husband works away so I'm at home with 5 children on my own, so as much as I don't want to spread it to them I don't really have much choice as I still need to care for them as well as being ill 🥺
Not really much point to this thread except just to talk about it and maybe get a little support. I'm the type of person that when I'm ill I just battle on and don't let it stop me (with 5 children I don't have much other options) however this has absolutely floored me.. my body isn't allowing me to battle on and I've never been this ill in my life and that's with both vaccines. Which makes me wonder what it would be like if I hadn't had the vaccine..
Do people tend to find that adults get this worse than children. 2 of my children are also positive but don't seem to be getting anywhere near the same symptoms I have..this is obviously good as I wouldn't want them to be as ill as I am but is slightly confusing considering I've had the vaccine and they haven't 🤷🏼‍♀️

They’ve said all along that for most children, covid is a mild illness. I’m sorry you are feeling rough and hope you start feeling better soon. Try and take it easy and let the children who are older help out where they can.

Any chance of your DH coming home?

heldinadream · 15/09/2021 07:38

Oh you poor thing! How old are they all OP? I'm hoping that with five you've got one at least old enough to delegate tasks to.
The likelihood is the children will all sail through relatively unaffected. You need to rest as much as possible.

Their 5,8,10,12 and 15 so the 15 year old is being a huge help. Unfortunately my husband has to go to work because if he doesn't then we won't have money to live on..
I'm hoping I feel a little better over the next few days.

Sympathies, we all had it. DS had no symptoms but DH and I felt awful. We basically lay on the sofa and watched Disney Plus the whole time and ate snacks as I couldn’t cook.

We all had it, DH and I double vaccinated. He was worse than me, aches and a cough, but in the ore covid days he probably would have been able to go to work, I just had a cold, the kids had a runny nose for about 24 hours. There doesn't seem to be much logic to it, I'm fat and smoke so my risk was probably higher.

Hope you feel better soon.
