Vaccine travel passport and teen

Looking to book a holiday to Spain for next summer. DD will be 16. She doesn't want to get the vaccine as she's weighed up the risks on both sides for people her age and that's her decision.

I'm fully vaxxed, wouldn't mind her getting it, but she's gillick competent so thats that.

I think, although it's all quite confusing, that there are no plans to make vaccines mandatory for under 18 to travel. But I don't want to book it now, and have things change and find she can't come.

Does anyone have a better grasp than I do if the whole situation and can you give advice... I guess it's all up in the air but thought I'd ask for the collective wisdom of MN!

I would imagine its unlikely they'll make it mandatory for travel - I would expect it to continue as it is now - with tests for those not fully vaccinated. (And at 16, she would only currently be entitled to 1 dose, so wouldn't be classed as fully vaccinated from the Spanish government point of view anyway, even if she would take it.)

Ah that makes more sense than what I've read so far. Thank you.

I might book it but have a word to say if it come to the crunch she'll have to get the vaccine. I don't like that really, I'm pro choice really, but it's impossible to plan otherwise

Nobody can say what will happen so far ahead.
Obviously it won't only depend on UK rules, but also on Spain's. I've just seen on another thread someone say that France is bringing in quarantine for unvaccinated people coming from the UK. (not sure of the veracity but it's on a thread)
