Does DS need a test?

DS aged 8 has a sore throat and runny nose. NHS website says not to test unless he has a fever/cough/loss of taste or smell. He doesn't have any of these. However I thought Delta symptoms were different?

We have boxes of LFTs. My other son and I tested negative this morning.

Does DS need a PCR? LFT? Or neither?

Start with a LFT if you have them?

My DD has these symptoms last week. I took her for a PCR because I knew the school would likely want one if she got worse/started with a cough. It was negative and turns out was just a minor cold.
I would probably get one to be on the safe side. We waited less than 18 hours for the results as well.
