I'm a support worker and one of my service users has tested positive for Covid. No staff members have received a notification from track and trace. We provide personal care for the s/u and are in close contact with her numerous times through the day.
Have we not been notified because it was my managers duty to inform us? (They did btw) We all just thought it was odd we haven't heard from them.

I was recently contacted by them as a close contact 9 days into the 10 day isolation period (had I not been double vaxxed). It might just not have happened yet.

We have a member of staff who's only had one vaccination so far and they're adamant that she should come into work. We're sure she's supposed to self isolate but managers say no 🤷🏻‍♀️

Surely you are wearing PPP and therefore don't need to isolate?

ChristmasCovid · 13/09/2021 18:46

Care workers wearing PPE are not names as contacts

Watapalava · 13/09/2021 18:52

My dd is a contact now of 5 kids - one from a sleepover

No one has contacted me

@ChristmasCovid

Care workers wearing PPE are not names as contacts
Yes this is what our nhs trust says as well. In fact if we visit a patient with possible covid or isolating we are supposed to tell them that we would not be classed as a contact so not to give our details to test and trace if they test positive
flower11 · 13/09/2021 20:12

Health care workers wearing ppe have never been counted as contacts as before the isolation rules changed hospitals and care homes would have ended up with no staff.

DillingersMoll · 13/09/2021 20:57

Of course we're wearing PPE.

Ah right, thank you for that. It's the first case we've had in the whole company so we were unsure.
