If you tested positive on PCR, how long after did you get symptoms?

I took a PCR with my son on Thursday afternoon to show him that it wouldn't hurt. He had a cold and the tiniest start of a cough and his childminder asked that I get him tested. His result came back negative yesterday, and mind came back positive.

If I were going to get symptoms, would I have had them by now?

Thank you

I tested on a Wednesday morning (for a random survey) and had almost nothing (maybe coughed literally once or twice on Friday and Saturday) until Sunday when the coughing became impossible to ignore and got worse for a few days. That was probably the Kent variant, though. Delta is supposed to develop more quickly. I expect you will be ok.
I think it’s a good sign if it comes on slowly, anyway. Mine was fairly mild.
I hope you are asymptomatic. Let us know. Good luck!

Mine was pre-vaccine.

Thank you. It's anxiety inducing isn't it, the waiting. Particularly with two little ones in the house

My symptoms were very slow to develop. Start on the paracetamol and soup now and give your body the chance to beat it before it gets going. Brew

Yes, it was discombobulating not knowing whether I was at the end or the beginning. I wanted to believe I’d caught it weeks earlier, but reality caught up with me.
Anyway, look after yourself!
