My daughter had a negative pcr covid test on Thursday but has been coughing non stop since - is there any chance that it’s covid? Her test was on 8th and her symptoms started on 6th?

It’s constant

I don't think the tests are 100% accurate, so yes, it could be covid. But equally, it could be something else. Might be worth doing another test?

Possibly however we have had the same and all negative tests - dd2 had her test quite a few days after the cough started, dd1 had it before her cough started as she had a sore throat and school had asked for a test.

I had a cough about a month ago. It was awful, proper coughing my lungs up, couldn't lie down without coughing myself sick. Went for a test and it was negative.
Both DSs also had a version of it though not as bad and both were negative, so it's entirely possible it's just a nasty cough. Germs have started to circulate again after all.

Thanks alexa, Maybe I should just take her to the gp in case she has a chest infection or something 🤦‍♀️ She’s not coughing anything up

Is it tickly? Dd2 had a very dry cough that was a constant tickle. Adult olbas oil on a hankie and also steaming over a sink with olbas oil in hot water also provided some relief

Oh lots of x posts! Yes I think we’ve all forgotten that we used to get sick from other things 😄
