I am in a situation where I have been in close contact with 6 people who have tested positive. I have to continue to go to work and these people are not good at social distancing. You can probably guess my job! Anyway I am 23 weeks pregnant and feel like I am going to get it, how can I avoid it . Anyone had covid between 20-26 week? I had my second vaccine but it's not effective yet

That sounds awful OP!

Have your work provided you with full PPE? Not just the crappy paper masks Hmm

I’d speak to your manager and see if you can be moved service? Failing that if it’s causing you stress/ anxiety you could phone in sick (assuming you’d be paid/ can afford it, I know not everyone can).

When did you have the second vaccine OP?

Would it be possible for you to take leave/wfh until the 2 weeks post jab have passed?

sleepyhoglet · 13/09/2021 20:35

Vaccine was a week ago tomorrow. I am a teacher. Can't wear mask when teaching. I am accepting I will get it now. I am 22 weeks but past 28 weeks would not be happy to be put in that position

I really don't understand why you can't wear a mask. It should be your choice. They are doing it in other countries.

Surely if your second vaccine was less than two weeks ago you can (and should!) be isolating? Hope you’re ok. Flowers

I actually agree. If you are not fully vaccinated, and you are close contact, you are meant to be isolating?
illuyankas · 13/09/2021 22:58

Sorry I meant if you are less than 2 weeks after 2nd dose, not, " not fully vaccinated."

sleepyhoglet · 14/09/2021 15:55

That's really helpful. I didn't realise I was only exempt if it was 14 days post vaccine. I will tell my employer and let them know
