I mentioned this on another thread but I wanted to just talk about this as I am confused and a little bemused as to what it actually says.

I read it as they are scrapping the idea of a Covid pass which is double vaccinated OR a negative lft OR recently had covid.

Under the scheme, people would have been required to show proof - whether of double vaccination, a negative Covid test or finishing self-isolating after a positive PCR test - in order to gain entry to clubs and other crowded events.

Thoughts? Seems very different to not introducing vaccine only passports??

Maybe the other options were for those that couldn't have the vaccine (healthwise) for whatever reason or they wouldn't be able to go to places

Yes I agree that those measures were also needed if "vaccine passports" were introduced but we have the negative test result for things like Wimbledon, Euros etc. Seems they will go too now?

Most the venues wanting the negative tests and the vaccine passes were the government trial events, I can't imagine they will want negative tests as it will be too time consuming and expensive, I can't see the government paying for loads of tests for evermore and also they are very open to fraud unless you do it in front of someone.

Yes I think lfts are too expensive and they want to scrap them being a mandatory requirement. And vaccine only passports were never a thing, but a convenient way to u-turn on any other measures without anyone noticing about the removal of testing.

I'm not normally so interested but I think this is a real indicator of where the government are going with Covid
