Ds13 has COVID19. Self isolating in room but he’s having massive coughing fits. Any tips on what will help? I hope he’s not going to suffer it for a long time! He’s had it since Tuesday! How long did your kids take to recover?

Dd1 was lile this yesterday, she's on day 3 and seems to be coughing less today, not sure if it will be worse come night time but I'm hoping she's over the worst of it.

My kids touch wood don’t, but I do, and had really bad coughing fits too. What helped me was drinking a LOT of fluids and also sucking throat/cough sweets so that I was swallowing a lot. Hope he feels better soon.

Honey might help - it's been proven effective in helping with respiratory illness so they're testing it in covid. Ideally not too hot

Hi,
I have suffered badly with the cough. What helped me was laying on my front (I'd lay across my bed with head hanging off the side of bed) That really helped. Also, not laying down flat and being proped up with lots of pillows and even sleeping upright. I also when I can manage it have hot showers with steam and would breathe that in and that would help for a while. Cough sweets with honey. Open windows, lots of cool air (don't use fans). Hope he is feeling better soon. Please get an oximeter (only £12 on Amazon) as this helped monitor blood oxygen levels, pulse and heart rate.

Looks like the price has gone up to £15 but really worth it
