Had Covid March last year. Positive antibody test last August. Double jabbed. I'm a nurse and come into contact with Covid patients fairly regularly including those who are all care.
We come on holiday (in the UK) and I come down with a sore throat Wednesday and a cough last night.
We drove to the big town today to have our PCR's.
DH is convinced I have a cold (he's been coughing too) whereas I'm pretty sure it's the variant.
This time tomorrow I'll know.
No point of this I guess just wanted to share.

Good luck Flowers hopefully just a regular virus!

I am sick of thinking about Covid, it is very draining always wondering and testing.

It's awful op, the waiting and wondering isn't it.

We've got covid in our house and it's just a question of when not if.
Seems like madness that I'm going into the work etc.

Thanks both. I know it's not the end of the world I'm just so p'd off if I'm positive.

I am same as you, double vaccs, covid early 2020, healthcare worker. Have dodged loads of bullets including DS returning from Boardmasters with it. Thought I’d got away with it then friend rang me to say she was positive and we’d been out together a couple of days beforehand. I thought I was coming down with cold but no, positive LFT and positive PCR the day after.
I have done 18mnths treating patients face to face and I pick it up from a friend while having a coffee.
I do think there may be a new variant. I started with symptoms within 48hrs of contact and DH came down with it 48hrs later. I can’t believe that I spent 6hrs in a car with DS with Covid and then him drifting round the house and didn’t catch it. Twenty minutes with a friend and I’m infected.

It is possible it isn't covid. There are other viruses out there. Fingers crossed for you.

cheesegloriouscheeseyum · 09/09/2021 21:00

I've just had an illness with the same symptoms @DeeDimer and I had a negative PCR after several lateral flows. It was just another virus, so fingers crossed yours will be too Smile

cheesegloriouscheeseyum · 09/09/2021 21:01

Several NEGATIVE lateral flows, that should say...

DeeDimer · 10/09/2021 08:57

Thanks everyone for replying. Much to my surprise we're both negative. I still feel like shit though.
