Confused about isolation rules

Dss has had a positive pcr test result yesterday, (8th sept) no symptoms yesterday, the test was done as he was a close contact of a positive test.

Started with a temperature this morning so does isolation end 10 days after his symptoms stop, or 10 days from the test yesterday? 🤔

10 days from date of test.

Strictly speaking if they were asymptomatic at the time of the test and then get symptoms afterwards you are supposed to restart isolation from the symptoms date. With it only being 1 day I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference

If you are isolating because of a positive test result but did not have any symptoms, and you develop COVID-19 symptoms within your isolation period, start a new 10 day isolation period by counting 10 full days from the day following your symptom onset

From The Govt website

Note that the day you get symptoms is day 0, day 1 is the next day. So tomorrow will be DSS Day 1 & he needs to isolate for 10 full days - Sunday after this one.

@NotFuckingLadyLike

10 days from date of test.
@NotFuckingLadyLike

That's incorrect.

As per dementedpixie's post & mine.
