How long did you lose your sense of smell for?

I started getting symptoms six days ago, PCR four days ago was positive.

I lost my sense of smell entirely two days ago - literally not a whiff of a hint of a scent of anything.

How long did it take you to get it back?

About 2 weeks in my case. But everything smelt of bubblegum for a couple of days.

That’s weird! DH had a coffee the other day which tasted entirely of orange juice.

My food now tastes like it should, but my mouth burns as I eat it.

2 weeks too

4 weeks for me, complete absence of taste and smell.

About a week for smell to return, taste took a few more days.

i didn't lose my sense of smell/taste, but DS28 did, and it took best part of a year to come back.

Oh no! That’s sounds awful.

About a week, I had some chocolate orange every day as a test 😄

4 days

Around 6 weeks for anything (really strong smells I got a slight whiff)

3 months to lightly smell everything (3 months for bacon cooking to come back).

A year later I can smell but it’s not nearly as strong as before. It’s became the new normal but various smells are coming back.

Started coming back after 4 weeks unfortunately I was loving not having my ridiculously over sensitive sense of smell!

A few hours. But couldn’t taste properly for a week or 2.

About a week along with no taste but it came back as normal, no strange after effects. I did have a very very mild case of covid though.

Within two weeks, taste took a few days longer.

About 8 months. But some things came back 'wrong' and taste / smell unbearable, particularly fruit. And that includes the grapes in wine! Hope it all comes back to normal eventually.

7 months.
