Stinking cold, in going to have to stay home

Aren't I?

Sore throat, headache, very runny/sneezy nose. No temperature or cough or changes to taste/smell so officially I don't have "symptoms". I'm double vaxxed and I had Covid in December, so surely it must just be a cold, but of course I can't know that. I've done LFT which is clear. Will arrange PCR.

I'm only just back from a long absence, I'm dreading telling both my boss and my staff, who won't like it for different reasons. I can do some wfh but not the whole thing. Others are going to have to pick stuff up.

@Sunnysideup999

It sounds like it’s not COVID but why would you go in to the workplace? You are clearly infectious with something - I hate it when people carry on going to work and spread their germs everywhere - especially during a global pandemic
Yawn.

Because she has a responsibility to do the work, she wants to continue to keep her job, she doesnt want to land stuff on colleagues... We all might have back to back colds this winter after 18 months in isolation, the country can't grind to a halt because we're feeling a bit poorly. Get a covid test and get on with it.

I’m double vases and have had Covid but have just tested positive with what appeared to be a cold. DS has a cold ( he had Covid a month ago which we didn’t catch) so it’s all a bit hit and miss. I would isolate until you have negative PCR.

Bloody autocorrect... vaxxed not vases

Bobholll · 07/09/2021 19:23

We don’t all have the luxury of staying at home with a germy cold. Who do you suggests teaches your children or treats you in A&E or serves you in a restaurant or drives your tube/bus/train .. do a PCR, get back to work. It’s ridiculous. If you can WFH & your comedy are fine with it, then great. Go ahead. But if not, then we can’t all hide at home with colds that we’ve been perfectly OK with for decades previously.

Watapalava · 07/09/2021 19:26

Just go to work

You don’t have covid symptoms no matter what anyone claims about anecdotal cold symptoms

Don’t be doing pcr for same reason

We can’t all be missing work for pcr tests and results wcerytime someone gets a cold- esp now people have been vaccinated

Some may have refused but that’s their fault

Oblomov21 · 07/09/2021 20:27

I don't see the problem with going to work with a cold. If it is. We went to work before, before covid, with colds.
