Went back to school on Wednesday, children back on Friday. My TA is now awaiting pcr results after being a close contact. The teacher in next rooms husband tested positive on Friday, so she tested and got a negative so far. One of her pupils is awaiting results as his mum is positive. The chaos has begun!

Yep...similar boat here.

Back on Wednesday, close colleague's household member tested positive this morning. They've been ill for 3 days but thought they had a hangover apparently.

Colleague negative so far...

Oh no. It's definitely a worry. I start my new job as TA on Monday. I'll do all I can to keep in school but ultimately if I get it I won't be able to.

It’s going to be absolute carnage, our eduction system in its current form will collapse under the weight of unmitigated Covid. We’re about to find out what living with Covid truly means for everyone.

Best of luck teachers!

Instead of everyone doing LFT, they might as well ask everyone to do PCR tests once or twice a week, like they do for many.

God I'm not looking forward to this next few months. We will have ds1 in reception, ds2 in preschool, dh at uni and I will be going back to supply teaching. So so many contacts

My child's school has had one case announced this evening. They did a whole school singing assembly on Friday. Back in July that would have meant the whole school isolating for 2 weeks. Under current guidance it's nothing to see here, keep on trucking. Everyone in the school is a close contact. Woohoo.
