I'm confused about the current rules. I'm in England. My son was at his dad's at the weekend. His dad has just had a positive PCR test. What do we (me, son and daughter (who wasn't at dad's) need to do on terms of testing, isolating, etc? Thanks.

Close contacts who have been double jabbed or who are under 18 no longer need to isolate so carry on as normal. It's recommended that the close contact has a PCR test but it's not legally required.

I don't think you have to do anything if dc is under 18 as pp says. But if I was in your shoes, I would do the test so the child won't spread at school in case asymptomatic.

Ex thinks he picked it up last week sometime. I've booked us all PCR for tomorrow. Dd is v upset as we'd planned her birthday sleepover for this weekend.
