Isolation/vaccination help

Hi,
I’m wondering whether anyone has been in the same situation and can clarify my query about isolation - if you could direct me to the guidance too that would be really helpful.

I need to isolate due to being a close contact and not being full vaccinated. I will be fully vaccinated in two days as I had my second vaccine on 19th Aug.

So, do I need to isolate for the full 10 days due to being unvaccinated when I was a close contact, or does the isolation end once I am fully vaccinated (2 days). I can’t find any official documents containing this scenario.

If you had both your vaccinations before the close contact you don’t need to isolate.

You're supposed to be 14 days post 2nd vaccination to not have to isolate

Yes, you can stop your isolation on the morning of the 15th day post vaccination. It cones under the same transition rules that allowed double vaccinated people then in isolation to stop isolating on the morning of the 16th Aug.

Don’t you have to be 2 weeks post second vaccination to be deemed double vaxxed

ColettesEarrings · 01/09/2021 07:53

Actually, having re read the legislation it doesn't specify explicitly anywhere that someone under 14 days double vaxxed at the time of beginning isolation post 16th Aug, but who would then become 14 days fully double vaxxed during that isolation, can stop the isolation. It's a small but significant gap. So I take it back, legally I think you do have to compete the whole ten days. Have you been contacts by Test & Trace or has someone informed you themselves? If you're 12 days post second jab when you started, and unlikely to be contacted by T&T, I think I know what most people would do...
