Chances of getting it?

Saw my gran on Saturday, gave her a hug as we left. We had lunch together in her kitchen. She's just tested positive, we've gone and done pcr tested now but should we be psyching ourselves up for getting it? We're both double jabbed:

Yes, guess there's no way of knowing until results are in. I was just wondering if the vaccine actually gives much in the way of not catching it? Anecdotally it just seems to stop you catching it as badly.

Both my dd had it and me and dh didn't catch it. Its 5 days afterwards that you would get it

Dd had sex with her boyfriend a few hours before testing positive on a LFT (and later PCR). Her BF obviously isolated as required (single jabbed) but he didn't get it!

I think we will all get it one way or another. I had it in first wave and am vaccinated but guess I may get it again. So unused to being ill now though!

It's impossible to predict whether you might catch it

Obviously you can look up all the research statistics but that still won't tell you what's going to happen to you. You just have to wait and see and act as if you're positive as much as you can to be on the safe side.

We've all just had negative PCRs but will obviously keep doing lateral flows and will test again on Saturday. Thanks all.
