How long to wait for vaccine after illness?

My 17 year old was due to have his first vaccine last week. He couldn't have it as he came down the day before with a nasty fluey cold - high temp, sneezing, coughing etc. We did a PCR for covid which was negative. He actually had covid back in April.

He isn't too bad now but still has a hacking cough.

How long should we wait for him to get his vaccine? Should I give it a clear week from symptoms (except cough) ending? Is there any official guidance?

I would as soon as his temp has gone. I think that’s the only reason they say to delay and if you actually have covid.

I got my second when I was on antibiotics for an infection and feeling super run down but they said it was fine and it didn’t make me feel worse

You have to wait 4 weeks from date symptoms started - I know because this happened to my daughter.
