Probably thick question about isolation period

Sorry!

Both my DC have received positive PCR results today - test was done yesterday. DD's symptoms started last Wednesday evening. DS's actually started a few days before that but we just thought it was a cold and only thought to test when DD had symptoms. Therefore, to be safe, we're working on the basis that DS's symptoms started the same day as DD's. If I'm understanding correctly, they must isolate 10 full days from symptoms appearing, not 10 days from today, meaning that their last day of isolation is Saturday? Really hope so 🙏 due to implications returning to school/college next Monday.

Separately, I've not received my result yet even though I sent my test off the day before the DC. Could it just have been caught in a different batch or do they prioritise giving positive results first? I'm hoping I'm negative - no symptoms, negative LFT, double jabbed.....

10 days from symptoms but they should of isolated from the day they got symptoms.
Hopefully your results will come back today /tomorrow hopefully negative.

10 days form symptoms starting. Last time I booked a test it asked when my symptoms started. Did it ask you to give a dated. Track and trace will advise from that if you added it I guess?! My test was negative so little experience though, sorry.

It's 10 days from symptoms but I am sure T&T will advise. @Imnothereforthedrama It can be a bit tricky to be expected to isolate from the day they get symptoms if the symptoms are not the main 3 listed and something like cold wouldn't cause undue concern unless you had other reasons to suspect Covid.

Thanks - they have both been isolating since Thursday morning when DD"s symptoms started and getting positive LFTs. DS hadn't been isolating before that when we thought it was just a cold so doing his isolation same as DD.

No sign of my results yet - weird!

Symptom start day is day 0 then isolation is 10 full days afterwards.
