I’m having a wobble

FeelingJittery1 · 30/08/2021 10:13

I’ve got the fist dose of Pfizer about 20 days back- next one not due until early Oct

I’m having a wobble today morning and freaking out that I’m going to catch Covid and not make it as I’m not protected enough..

I read somewhere that 1st Pfizer only 30% effective- not sure if that’s against symptoms or hospitalisation

Bump?

OP you have had so many threads. People can only reassure you so much.

SummerHouse · 30/08/2021 10:27

This is not rational thought so rational reassurance will not register. I wish there were things I could say that would help.

Although I say it's not rational, it's not surprising you feel this way. It's been a really tough time and not many people will be unscathed by it. Have you talked to GP about how you feel?

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 30/08/2021 10:31

What are you hoping posters will say? No one can tell anyone whether they'll catch covid or not. You must know that, worrying won't make any difference neither will anecdotes of strangers

Carry on taking whatever precautions you fell necessary or literally seal yourself away. What else can you do?

FeelingJittery1 · 30/08/2021 10:31

@SummerHouse I have a call booked for mid week- I thought I was doing ok- taking each step. My dad being in hospital doesn’t help but I’ve woken up with a massive panic which I’m struggling to shift-

You post threads like these almost daily OP and you've had lots of good advice. Posting here is clearly not helping you. I told you in a previous thread that I caught Covid after only one dose of Pfizer and I am fine.

FeelingJittery1 · 30/08/2021 11:18

@Waxonwaxoff0 no I haven’t posted daily - I’m trying not to get sucked into the panic but today hasn’t worked that well for me-

As I have said on previous of your threads I dont think this constant posting is helping you. You are just feeding your anxiety.

GoldFrankensteinAndGrrr · 30/08/2021 11:59

I've said this on so many other threads posted by anxious OPs - the MN covid board probably isn't the best place to be in terms of exacerbating your anxiety. There is so much alarmist stuff posted thoughtlessly on here.

I'm sorry you're feeling so worried OP Flowers

Rosehip10 · 30/08/2021 14:58

You post similar threads day after day, nothing than anyone can say on MN will help your severe health anxiety. Any suggestion that you seek (further) help is met with statements like you have "done" CBT etc.

MN is not going to solve your mental health issues.

Karlee30 · 30/08/2021 15:30

How old are you op? Assuming pretty young and healthy?! Likelihood is if you were to catch Covid would be fine even with one dose. Just be sensible, wash your hands and try and relax - easier said than done I know 💕

FeelingJittery1 · 30/08/2021 17:53

@Karlee30 I turned 40 a few months back. Im not sure if I’m healthy but no known underlying conditions…
I do take as much precautions as possible but feel nervous all the time

OP posts:
DarceyDashwood · 30/08/2021 18:01

Reassurance seeking like posting on MN is just going to prologue any cycles of anxiety - no one here can give you the definitive answers you are looking for. Realistically and statistically you would most likely be fine. Try to think about other things and distract yourself with something else if you can. It’s horrible I know having anxiety so I say the above with kindness. I hope tomorrow is better Flowers

Innocenta · 30/08/2021 18:07

Truly, if you were at all at elevated risk, you'd have been jabbed sooner. It's incredibly unlikely you'd have a serious adverse outcome Thanks

SmidgenofaPigeon · 30/08/2021 18:08

This is just making you worse OP.

You have started a dozen or more threads in the last few weeks alone. You have also posted same on numerous other threads. You really need to stop. You ar elooking for reassurance however you seem unable to accept what people say. You need proper help not internet forums.

BoomChicka · 30/08/2021 21:37

What do you want people to say that hasn't already been said?
