I met a friend for dinner on Friday night.
She mentioned her her husband had had diarrhoea on Wednesday but it had passed within 12 hours.
We were supposed to meet on Saturday afternoon with our two kids but she messaged saying her daughter has started with diarrhoea so she cancelled.

This morning I have woken up feeling really queasy and my stomach has been off.
My friend has also told me her mum has started with it too with looked after her daughter on Friday night.

I haven’t seen my friends daughter or husband and my friend has felt okay.

My friend has done several LFT which are all negative and I’ve had a negative LFT too.

I would say no, you don't. No positive LFTs and no symptoms which would warrant a PCR.

Did you worry before covid about people with diarrhoea no so stop it now.

lannistunut · 29/08/2021 14:55

As far as I can tell, no one has had a positive covid test and no symptoms warranting a test, so, no, I personally can't see why a covid test is needed.

Neverrains · 29/08/2021 14:56

Sounds like a tummy bug.

@Againstmachine

No, I didn’t. But so many people seem to have a wide variety of symptoms with Covid!!

I think whilst some people have stomach symptoms from Covid, it is unlikely you would all have only stomach symptoms with Covid. So my guess is a stomach bug. But that is only my guess!

CandleWick4 · 29/08/2021 15:04

Are you in the UK OP? Norovirus is doing the rounds.

lurker101 · 29/08/2021 15:05

Personally, if it was on my mind that I maybe should get a PCR test, then I would get one, even if just to stop myself questioning it/worrying.

So all these illnesses have been got rid of with covid, people have the white that's what it is.

PwySyddYma · 29/08/2021 15:21

No you do not need to use a NHS/government resource for this.

PCR tests are not "free" they shouldn't just be used willy nilly for random symptoms.

Use the service appropriately.

Remmy123 · 29/08/2021 15:28

Errrr no you don't it's a sick bug 🙄

llm24 · 29/08/2021 15:30

That’s not a symptom of covid so I wouldn’t

@CandleWick4

I only had a sickness bug 5 weeks ago (courtesy of my son and nursery) I didn’t think I’d get one again so soon. 😩

I would say no. Stomach issues can definitely be a symptom but if you are all presenting with the same symptoms - diarhea, it's likely just a bug. It spreads like wildfire.
