DD fed up of covid isolation

2 of my DC have tested positive, we are just waiting on PCR results for rest of family (our lateral flow tests have been negative)

We have a 3 storey house and both positive DC are isolating on the top floor at the moment whilst we wait to find out if any of the rest if the family us have it.

Older DC coping fine so far but DD11 fed up and really sad. She keeps texting asking for hugs and woke up in the night very upset. I really don't want to catch it , I work in a school and I would hate to bring it there but she is so upset and lonely. I have given her short hugs and spending lots of time chatting at a distance. Any good ideas about how I can help her?

If you’ve given her short hugs then you may as well give her proper ones.

This, really.

Does older DC have the type of relationship with her that a hug from them would help, if you don’t want to?

But as you’ve hugged her already, you may as well carry on. There’s no point leaving her in distress when you’ve already hugged.

Hug your child 😱 my god.

I had covid in December & continued to bed share, kiss, cuddle & love on my children! The youngest caught it (but symptoms started at exactly the same time as mine before we were isolating), the oldest didn’t appear too. My DH & I continued to have sex etc, he never caught it (I wasn’t ill with it really, just a cold like thing).. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Luck of the draw I suppose but should we get it again, I will absolutely not isolate from my kids. Where did humanity go?

In what world does a mother isolate from her sick child 😨. Doesn’t matter what my child had , and how likely I was to catch it, I’d take care of her, because I’m her mum.
