Do I need to test or isolate

Baby had a cold. Now DP has a cold. Baby no long has a cold. I never had a cold. I ordered a PCR for DP. But can I go out tomorrow if I get a negative LFT as I didn't get the cold? Or do I need to wait for DP to send off PCR and get result back?

You don’t have to isolate if you are fully vaccinated.

We are both fully vaxxed. And I'm sure it's just a cold but I thought I'd be on the safe side to get him a test because I've heard delta can feel like a cold.

He doesn't have temp, cough or loss of smell. Just sneezes and runny nose.

I just really don't want to cancel my plans tomorrow and they aren't going to be up close an personal with anyone but it would be extremely inconvenient if I can't go.

I will not go if I shouldn't. But I'm thinking am I being too OTT about a cold? Or would going out before DP gets a negative result be really selfish and potentially dangerous??

Even if he’s positive you don’t have to isolate.

you don't need to isolate because you have been jabbed. If he tested positive it would be advised that you got a pcr, you don't need to isolate while you wait for your results and would only need to if they were positive.

The only time you or the baby now need to isolate is if you are personally showing symptoms or have tested positive.

Okay thanks - it's so hard to navigate all the rules now that they're changing. Lft neg for both of us and will post his PCR tomorrow
