I'm going for the shot Saturday [it's the piezer one] and wondering what to expect re-side effects. I heard it isn't very good and want to know how to manage them.

Dp's arm ached for an evening.

knittingaddict · 25/08/2021 13:30

My two daughter's and son in law had it. No side effects at all.

vodkaredbullgirl · 25/08/2021 13:30

Arm ached for 24 hours, took paracetamol.

dementedpixie · 25/08/2021 13:30

My dd had a sore arm for a couple of days after pfizer
I had a sore arm for a few days after AZ

lunar1 · 25/08/2021 13:32

Headache for a day after the first, paracetamol worked. Nothing after the second.

heldinadream · 25/08/2021 13:33

Well you might get no side effects at all, or a sore arm, or slight fluey symptoms or headache that can be coped with with ibuprofen, paracetamol, lots of fluids and rest and maybe a day or two in bed. I think it's pretty rare to get anything worse than this.

If you do get anything worse or unusual you'll want medical advice I expect.

I know loads of vaxxed people (all of the different vaxxes) and no one has had anything to worry about or unable to cope with normal illness management OP. Hopefully you'll come into the same category as most people. Over it very swiftly.

Pfizer, 1st vaccine absolutely nothing.
2nd vaccine, sore arm, tiredness...i am over a week having it and I am still fatigued. High anxiety. This started the day after vaccine. I am overwhelmed with everything. I have never had this. If my kids are talking to me and do what kids do by switching convos mid sentence, it makes me so so stressed.

gobackanddoitproperly · 25/08/2021 13:39

Sore arm, felt really rough for 4 days, tummy trouble. Not nice. Son, the same. My 2 daughters were side effects free.

Second jab, son and I side effects free, as was 1 daughter. My other daughter had a very slight fever and headache..

RavenclawsRoar · 25/08/2021 13:41

DH and I both had Pfizer. First jab - neither of us had any side effects. Second jab - I had a slight arm ache that had gone by evening; DH had arm ache that lasted maybe a day but was mild. Nothing much at all!

SpittinKitten · 25/08/2021 13:43

After my frst vaccine shot (AZ) i was absolutely floored for about a week afterwards with fatigue, my GP said she'd heard others say the same. Would do it again though - in fact I am. Second shot tomorrow; will see how this one goes...

Ontopofthesunset · 25/08/2021 13:47

Both my adult sons had the Pfizer (23 and 20 years old) and neither had any side effects at all except for a sore arm.

Puglife123 · 25/08/2021 13:48

Also have first on Saturday op , anxious but will feel much better when it’s over with good luck 😊

Glad I'm not the only one. I got swellings like the mumps - same pain I remember from childhood too :(

Coogee · 25/08/2021 13:55

Pfizer and Moderna is usually fine for the first jab, but side effects with the second.

AZ is the other way round.

ZenNudist · 25/08/2021 13:57

Definitely get the jab. The stories about vaccine sceptics dying are alarming. I know a 57 yo who died last week. So unnecessary.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 25/08/2021 14:13

I had no side effects at all.

Northernsoullover · 25/08/2021 14:16

I had pfizer and I had a slightly sore arm and I felt tired. I often feel tired though. The second shot that was rumoured to be potentially problematic was again just a sore arm. I was slightly peeved because work said I could take the day off if I needed to. I didn't need to Sad Smile

That was like me with AZ. We (teachers) attended a max vax session, all 100 of us together. About 30 had the next day off with varying degrees of lurgy. Me, nothing. The kids were most put out Grin
SpittinKitten · 27/08/2021 15:16

Second AZ jab yesterday, feeling absolutely fine today and not even an aching arm.

Puglife123 · 28/08/2021 22:21
