Scotland situation?

Hi all,

We’re due to visit Scotland (from England) and are unsure of the situation with tracing now. I know it changed like it did here in terms of isolating if you’re double vaxxed but when I look at booking restaurants they still seem to be taking details for the test and trace equivalent which I haven’t seen here for a while now? I’m just wondering firstly what people’s experience has been in Scotland recently (are people still being ‘pinged’?) and if anyone knows would we have to isolate once back home in England until we got a PCR if we were contacted by Scottish test and trace? We’re both double jabbed.

Thank you!

Yes restaurants are still taking details for test and protect. You can get pinged if you are using the app just like anywhere else. If you are double jabbed (at least 14 days after 2nd) then you don't need to isolate but need to take a PCR and get a negative result. Same if you're under 18.

And you still need to wear masks in Scotland when moving around restaurants and in shops.

The app here was different, it wasn't used to check in restaurants etc it just ran in the background picking up matches and I assume it "pinged" you if one of those then tested positive. I've not heard of anyone getting pinged by it and I deleted mine when I started leaving my phone in lockers at the gym! You'll still to check in either on paper or QR codes, a lot of attractions are still on pre booking only, and over 12s must legally wear a mask indoors although I've noticed that a lot of children are still wearing them.
