Is ID needed at walk-in Vaccination sessions?

Just wondered if you need any ID for these walk-in sessions please.

I’m looking to take a teenager in the next week and will probably travel to a centre doing 16-17s as walk-ins which will be some distance away. Do they need ID and if so, what kind of thing is acceptable? I assume there is access to the whole countries’ medical records on the system or these walk-ins wouldn’t work.

Thanks.

No ID needed. They very much like your NHS number & will ask you to confirm date of birth. 17yo DS just got an invite letter -- with his NHS no. on it.

Nope, no ID needed. They might ask for NHS number but they can look you up without it

Thanks. Much appreciated.

I had to show an ID at our local walk-in test centre when I took my kids there. I showed my passport.

A lot of 16 year olds won’t have photo ID. DS (17) & his girlfriend (16) are planning on going to a walk in this week.

No

Is people's experience of walk ins that your vaccination still shows up on the NHS app (England)? Have wondered about taking DD to a walk in for her second jab, but wondering whether system for recording vaccines works more smoothly if you've made an appointment in advance. (DD may need to travel to France in future, so ability to prove vaccination status v important).

I went to a walk-in for second jab. No ID needed, they just asked my name/DOB. Vaccination linked to my record fine.

yes showed up on app as soon as I had app or within 3 weeks after 2nd vacc (I don't frequently check app so not sure when)

I did walk-in both times; just needed my NHS no. & to know my DoB

emmathedilemma · 23/08/2021 09:02

i didn't take anything, they found me on the system off name, DOB and address.

DS1 had his first jab at a walk in on Saturday. Literally a walk in - we were staying with MIL, popped into the town, and there was a walk in outside the car park.

No ID, no NHS number. He said they found him in their system with his name and dob.
