My brother is on his 2 day with covid & his partner has just broken her leg! Her 16 yr old has never cooked before plus their 2 dogs need walking. Wish I lived nearer & could help. Any suggestions?

Google for local dogwalkers and send a takeaway pizza delivery tomorrow lunchtime.

I hope they manage ok. Time for the 16 year old to work out how to make a few meals.

I’m hoping it will be the making of her son. Fingers crossed that none of the rest of them catch it too.

Yes, 16yo needs to learn how to cook! It's an important life skill in any case. Mum should be able to give instructions even if dad is too poorly to help.

I assume that the 16yo can't walk the dogs because he is self isolating? So yes, dog walkers are the only option I guess.

16 year old should be exempt from isolating as under 18 so can he walk the dog (unless there is a medical/physical/SEN reason he can't?)

They can get a food delivery of nice oven ready meals, snacks and stuff that's easy to prepare

My 14 year old coped v well oven cooking M&S ready meals and making simple breakfasts and lunches when his parents had covid!

He also managed to do a few loads of washing!

Only your brother needs to isolate but obv SIL is out of action now so looks like their son will have to step up. He can walk the dogs and perhaps under guidance from SIL can make some meals etc? They are lucky they have him- maybe sensible to get some batch cooking done in case he gets poorly x

Having broken my leg 3 times I know what it’s like. Fortunately my 3 can all cook delicious meals, do the washing & are used to looking after me. I’m sure the 16 yr old will do his best, as long as he doesn’t become ill!
