Test and trace advice urgently needed please!

Anyone with any ideas please help! Or any test and trace workers!

My dds boyfriend helped her babysit my younger dc on 14th. When I got home he said he had done a positive LFT. He and dd1 (age 17) immediately went to stay at his house. He had a PCR and tested positive.

I have only had one vaccination (2nd was booked for 16th!) and decided to self isolate even though we were not contacted (he didn’t put our details in t and t form). I moved all my work (I’m self employed) and stayed home with the other dc working out that 10 days meant that I was free on 25th. Had PCR tests yesterday all came back negative.

Meanwhile DD1 has tested positive. T and t took all details from her and as she is under 18, my details as her mother. She explained to them that she last saw me on 14th but I have been told to self isolate until 27th which is 10 days from her positive PCR test. This means me losing all my work and isolating longer than is needed!

I’ve phoned them and they are no help, told me to ask her to cal. Online is no help and now confirms I must stay in until 27th. DD1 has spoken to them again and although they is said it should be fine for me to go out on 25th I have no official notice of this!

I don’t mind the extra days just that this time I lose my work and the goodwill of my clients.

Thank you for reading and any advice/help would be gratefully received.

You’re going to get a lot of comments about people’s opinions on isolating…

The only relevant factors here are that you still have to isolate as you’re not double vaccinated, and that as T&T have contacted you, you’re legally required to isolate until they end date.

If you’ve talked someone round into agreeing that the 25th is suitable, your next step would be getting that in writing. If you can get a letter or text from T&T that shows the 25th, it’d legally replace the earlier advice for the 27th.

Without having it in writing, you’re on a sticky wicket.

I massively sympathise; but I think you & DD are going to have to keep calling until you’ve got replacement written instructions.

Thank you for your reply. It really seems like it’s an inflexible system and if the computer says no that’s it! I guess I am going to have to suck it up!

@TakeYourFinalPosition. I managed to speak to someone and have been removed as a contact. Both people I spoke to said I have been removed and can carry on as normal after 24th but they do not send out proof of this and my account with t and t will still say isolate until 27th! It’s horrible. I have call reference numbers and they have made numerous items on my case. So I have verbal confirmation but nothing in writing!
