I'm on day 9/10 of the virus. In hospital struggling with the cough and breathlessness. Has anyone found anything that helps with the tight chest? It's awful. So scary gasping for breath. My sats are pretty good at the mo but I feel like I can only take very short, shallow breaths. I'm also 34 weeks pg and the poor babys heartbeat keeps going through the roof which is scary. I just want to be able to breath again. It feels relentless like I'm never going to get better :-(
Feeling really overwhelmed by it today.

This must be very scary for you and your baby, are you on oxygen and steroids and does that not bring any relief.

No nothing like that. Just fluids and painkillers.
I've never slept so much in my life and still been exhausted.
I feel so sorry for the baby. I tried so hard to stay safe and avoid catching it.

That sounds awful @FlamingLama. What have the doctors/nurses said? Tbh you’re in the best place for anything that’s going to relieve your symptoms so it’s going to be a conversation with them about what they can provide you with. Your sats may be fine but I’d be pushing for symptomatic relief with oxygen on the basis you’re distressed and exhausted.

It may be that there is a good medical reason you’ve not been offered this but I’d want to know exactly what that was.
