Going out / back to work with *the cough*

I'm currently getting over Covid. Due out of isolation Sunday and back to work Tuesday.

However i still have a hacking version of the tell tale cough - wondering if I'm going to be treated like a lepper?

I'll be using public transport for work and will need to do a shop on Monday.

How have people reacted if you've gone out with the cough? It's quite a tell tale bark!

You'll get a lot of space!

I move away from anyone with a nasty cough, sneezing or sniffling frequently.

I'll keep my mask on but don't know how much space I can give people on a Metro carriage 🙈

I haven't had 'the cough' but I cough badly thanks to allergies and no one has said anything to me yet, although I was worried last summer!

A Colleague of mine returned with the bark last week and people definitely gave them a wide berth.

A difficult one as I can see both sides but ultimately I think people are still trying to avoid covid

Can you work from home or take a couple of extra days if the cough is still bad? Your employer may come up with an alternative.

If it's anything like my workplace everyone in your vicinity will know you've had covid.. it's a running joke in ours who has an 'allowed' cough.. on public transport, well, sod em, "it's ok I've had covid, I'm past my 10 days" or people will scarper if they are nervous, don't worry

Everyone at work knows why I'm off and know I've done my 10 days so that should be fine

Might use it to repel the colleagues I don't like 🤣
