To go or not to go

Brother in laws birthday party Friday night. Having all the family and friends over cpr a party/bbq. I’m told around 50-60 people. My partner wants me to come, I’m uncomfortable with going due to Covid. I haven’t been around so many people in a social setting since lockdown stated. Am I being rude by deciding not to go? I’m fully vaccinated and have underlying health needs. I don’t want people invading my space but won’t want to be rude by keeping distance. Help

With that many guests you can get away with not going surely?

How far away is it? Will there be plenty of room outside? Might you be able to pop in for a bit and then go home and your husband can stay? If you're really not comfortable with going then don't. It's your choice.

If it’s outside, I would go but not inside. You will be surprised that most people are keeping their distance. It might do you good to go and see how you feel and if you feel uncomfortable, make your apologies and go home.

I wouldn't go but I'm still not comfortable going into people's houses.

I think if anything this has taught me to be selfish and do what I want. If people are happy socialising that's great, if not then that's fine too.

Do what makes you happy. I think it might take some of us a while to get back to socialising x
