Test and trace telling me to isolate

omgmumma · 17/08/2021 20:03

Daughter has just tested positive. I am negative but has been sent an email from track and trace to self isolate because I'm a close contact.

I thought since Monday even people living in the same house didn't need to self isolate?

I'm planning on keeping away from people but just want to understand the rules. Anyone else been sent one of these this week?

Have you been double vaccinated for more than 2 weeks? If so maybe it’s a glitch as it only changed yesterday.

omgmumma · 17/08/2021 20:13

Yes double vaccinated a month or two ago - hoping it's a glitch!

Where are you? The rules are different in different parts of the U.K.

Reallybadidea · 17/08/2021 20:15

Presumably test and trace won't know that you've been double vaccinated though unless they speak to you?

Frazzled2207 · 17/08/2021 21:10

are you in England?
I would be ignoring it tbh. If/when they call just explain.
I imagine the IT just hasn't caught up with the new rules yet.

You also need to have a negative PCR test depending on where you live

omgmumma · 17/08/2021 22:28

I'm in England, double vaccinated and PCR tested negative yesterday... so guessing it's a glitch. I wonder how many of these they are sending out - will cause lots of confusion I'm sure.

We assume isolation is needed until we can speak to the contact and verify they are exempt by accessing their vaccination status whilst they are on the phone.
