1 case in the community. All of NZ back into lockdown Level 4 because no link to border found.

Hard and fast.

That sentence doesn't sit right with me. It's very infantalising about your fellow adult citizens.

Oh do get over yourself. You have no clue what you are talking about.

GreenLakes · 17/08/2021 23:15

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that NZ is actually closing vaccination centres to ‘keep people safe’. Vaccines save lives and are the only way out of this for the whole world.

It just shows you the dogmatic mentality of these zero covid advocates who cannot accept this. Activists like Deepti Gurdasani here have been similar in that they border on anti-vax statements by downplaying the success of the vaccines as this doesn’t suit their agendas.

MapleMay11 · 17/08/2021 23:23

Cousinit Thank you Smile. I really hope vaccination is going well for them.

MarshaBradyo · 17/08/2021 23:31

I’m not surprised at this approach at this stage but I am that it can continue as long as Ardern mentioned, ie after vaccination

If people are more ok with it it will also be to do with lower lockdown fatigue

Delta is hard to suppress so good luck in next few days

SuperFairy · 17/08/2021 23:31

Sledgehammer to crack a walnut

I’ve just looked at the stats and NZ has vaccinated 17% of the population.

Get the vaccine rollout sorted Jacinda.

18 months ago I thought that you were sensible, now I think that you are a loon.

Carry on as you are love and you won’t have an economy let alone a country that we can all visit in 2 years time…….

Sunshinegirl82 · 17/08/2021 23:34

Out of interest does NZ have any domestic vaccine production capability? If not, is there a plan to build/increase domestic production?

I think something to come out of this situation is an awareness that every country that is able to needs to be looking to be as self sufficient as possible going forward when it comes to vaccine production.

Mandalay246 · 17/08/2021 23:44

Your eyes haven't told you the whole story - they are closed for 2 days until they can be made safe.

SuperFairy · 17/08/2021 23:46

I’m surprised about how angry I am about this.

It’s sooo clearly head in the sand. 1 fucking case, 1…….

Jeez, Jacinda let us know what the fuck you are doing about vaccinating your people.

THAT is what is going to combat this, not closing your doors to a multi million tourist industry…….

SuperFairy · 17/08/2021 23:50

No sorry @Mandalay246 you don’t get away with that, closing vaccination clinics for whatever reason is abominable.
And don’t jest with me that it’s because 1 fucking person has Covid…….

It’s so that your much lauded leader gets to sort out her approach to ONE case…..

SuperFairy · 17/08/2021 23:52

and also @Mandalay246 you’ve had 18 months to get these places safe.

Fill your boots.

popebenedictsp45 · 18/08/2021 00:05

@SuperFairy we're now up to five cases - that's the point of a lockdown, so we can find out how many more there are.

Why are you so angry? It's nothing to do with you, and you actually sound misinformed about what's going on here - particularly about the vaccination schedule which has ramped up considerably, with 250,000 people (5% of the population) vaccinated last week.

SuperFairy · 18/08/2021 00:06

Why weren’t they made safe before now?

That smacks of TOTAL INEPTITUDE…..

Please let us know.

Because tour strategy is completely wrong, have you not looked at the rest of the world?
Vaccines are the answer.
I have a Kiwi friend who is desperate to go home but he can’t because the quarantine hotels are booked until Feb 202#.
It’s fucking crazy.

IfYoureCrappyAndYouKnowIt · 18/08/2021 00:12

@SuperFairy
I can tell you the situation looks quite different in NZ to the "ineptitude" you're shouting about.

But just in case you are better informed than our public health teams - please let Ashley Bloomfield know your thoughts so he can improve the country's covid response.

popebenedictsp45 · 18/08/2021 00:13

@SuperFairy "Vaccines are the answer."

Oh wow, okay thanks for that! I'll make a note and let Dr Bloomfield know.

SuperFairy · 18/08/2021 00:16

Anyway carry on @popebenedictsp45 sadly you will now miss millions of tourism that will likely not come back for years.
Apart from exporting sheep (and a bit of wine) what else will bring you money?
Have you asked your leader that?

Mandalay246 · 18/08/2021 00:19

Why weren’t they made safe before now?

That smacks of TOTAL INEPTITUDE That's so funny coming from someone (I presume) in the UK

Please let us know.

Because, up until yesterday there were NO covid cases in the community - there haven't been for a long time, over a year in this part of the country. What part of no restrictions do you not understand? Can you remember life pre-covid? Well, apart from the borders being closed that is how we have been living for many months. Why would vaccination centres be geared up as though covid was just around every corner?

Mandalay246 · 18/08/2021 00:20

Apart from exporting sheep (and a bit of wine) what else will bring you money?

Yet another clueless poster!

popebenedictsp45 · 18/08/2021 00:20

@superfairy

If you read any news, or did a quick google, you would see that our economy's looking really good - our economy grew by 1.6% in the first quarter.

SuperFairy · 18/08/2021 00:21

Ooh Dr Bloomfield, I shall get in touch right away…

Mandalay246 · 18/08/2021 00:24

Oh, my mistake - it's the same clueless poster Grin

Why don't you apply for a spot in MIQ @SuperFairy - I'm sure Jacinda and Ashley are longing for you to come and tell them what to do, you seem to be an expert.

Mandalay246 · 18/08/2021 00:26

Carry on as you are love and you won’t have an economy let alone a country that we can all visit in 2 years time…….

Personally I would rather you never visited, "love". As for our economy, you don't know the first thing about it, as evidenced by your posts.

SuperFairy · 18/08/2021 00:28

Goodnight my darlings,

Thankfully I’ve visited your beautiful county before. It was absolutely fucking amazing.

Suck a shame that because of your now leaders actions that no one else will get to see it, that really is a fucking shame.

popebenedictsp45 · 18/08/2021 00:30

@Superfairy just like with our economy and our vaccination rollout you have no clue - we are opening our borders early next year.

Why do people just spout this crap? I don't get it - with google there is no excuse for ignorance.

Cousinit · 18/08/2021 00:32

SuperFairy you seem overinvested and irrationally angry about what we're doing here in NZ. Go and have a cup of tea and a sit down.
