Confused - is daughter really negative??

Basically last Saturday 7th august, we had an email from our daughters nursery to say that there had been a positive case of covid in her room. They were awaiting a PCR which on Sunday they emailed to say this was positive. We then had to self isolate, but had already been out and about on the Saturday. I was wearing a mask and sanitising my hands etc as I’m 35 weeks pregnant. Anyway cut to this Friday and I tested positive for covid, which was confirmed by PCR yesterday.. After finally what seems like forever our 4 year old daughter let us put a swab up her nose (not tonsils which I know is less accurate) but she has tested negative. I’m now wondering whether I picked it up from her nursery or not? We’ve been told she won’t be able to return to nursery if she has a positive PCR which we will do this Friday prior to her going back on the Tuesday (so we get results back in time to show the nursery). If it’s positive that will mean our third week of isolation. When does this cycle ever break?!

Close contacts no longer need to isolate for children as of today. I would ask nursery what their procedures are as of today.

We had an email from them today saying they will only accept negative PCR’s if someone in the household is positive.

Nursery can have their own rules. Just because the government say one thing doesn’t mean they have to follow those rules.

This will be the way forward if they want to advertise as a covid safe environment

I really really appreciate how hard it must be and I can’t imagine being in your situation but if you haven’t done your daughters test properly it may well be showing negative when she is positive 😞
