Second Pfizer today, positive flow test?

DriftGames · 15/08/2021 20:26

I had my second Pfizer today, and I've taken 2 flow tests this evening (I do every Sunday before the working week) and both have come up positive.

Any research to suggest this is a coincidence? Will be taking a PCR tomorrow but I'm due to go away Wednesday so weighing up my chances here!

No - you shouldn’t get a positive test from a vaccine.

FlagsFiend · 15/08/2021 21:09

None of the vaccines are not live so it is impossible for the vaccine to cause the virus to be reproducing in your respiratory tract, therefore being vaccinated today was an unfortunate coincidence. You'll just have to wait for the PCR result, there is a good chance it will be positive.

FlagsFiend · 15/08/2021 21:10

Sorry that should say 'none of the vaccines are live'

Wellbythebloodyhell · 15/08/2021 21:15

The vaccine will not give you a positive result. If you have a positive result on an lft chances are its because you have covid

DriftGames · 15/08/2021 21:45

Ah shit, thought as much!

Will obviously isolate and PCR test but trying to remain hopeful that they're just false positives Wink

Faint but positive this morning I'd say.

PCR booked for 9am. Anyone recently had a drive through test & can tell me how quick they got results?

Results coming back in less than 24 hours here. DS recently had pos LFT and neg PCR.

Icantstopeatinglol · 16/08/2021 08:28

I had one a month back and know others who have too and you usually get the results back within 24hrs.

careerchangeperhaps · 16/08/2021 08:29

I did a PCR yesterday at about 9:30am. Results came back after 12.5 hours.

MarchingOnTogether · 16/08/2021 09:17

My dd had a pcr a few weeks ago, test at 10am, result came through 5am following day so 19hrs

Brokenrecord3006 · 16/08/2021 11:26

Our PCR results came back in 8 hours recently, after a 9am appointment. So hopefully you won't be waiting too long!

DriftGames · 16/08/2021 14:18

Oh wow, that's positive news all round! @AuntLydiasNewHairdo glad to hear your son was negative!

I'm expecting a positive result, so fully prepared for 10 days isolation following today's isolation, but I just want to know really! Will keep you guys updated if you're interested Grin

Let us know. 🤞

Revengeofthepangolins · 16/08/2021 15:34

An usual with all these types of posts, I can’t see any positive lines at all in the snap. Am starting to wonder if it like those magic eye pictures Smile

@DriftGames

Faint but positive this morning I'd say.

PCR booked for 9am. Anyone recently had a drive through test & can tell me how quick they got results?

I had a 8.30 appointment last friday and got my test back at 9pm that night as did dd, ds got his result the next morning. We were all negative, despite DH being positive . He had the mildest of colds since sunday, was pinged on thursday , went for test 9 ish and got his positive result on friday morning, hence why we all went for a test.
DriftGames · 16/08/2021 17:49

@Revengeofthepangolins the second picture is very faint but the first (in the OP) are very clear unfortunately.

@bruffin wow, that's quick! I have everything crossed for mine to be as quick!

OP posts:
bruffin · 16/08/2021 19:20

They said it would be 10 to 48 hours i think,

DriftGames · 17/08/2021 02:08

Results came in at 01:40 so very quick! I am indeed positive, unfortunately. So me and DD will miss our holiday - devastated, what awful timing! We are now isolating for 10 long days.

bruffin · 17/08/2021 08:00

Thats a shame, its 10 days from first symptoms, but if you dont have symptoms, would it be 10 days from the lft.

DriftGames · 17/08/2021 12:02

Yes, I've put all of my info into the app and I'm isolating for another 8 days now.

It's going to be long, but we'll manage!
