Bronchiectasis patients surviving COVID-19???

My mum has severe bronchiectasis and has been isolating abroad since the start of the pandemic. So far, we have managed to keep her safe from the virus and have had her double jabbed, but we are still constantly worried! It has been well over a year since we last saw her and wonder how long we can keep running away from the virus for.

I would like to know whether you or someone you know with severe bronchiectasis, who has contracted COVID and made a full recovery.

I can imagine your worry. My dad is 77 and double jabbed but I’m still freaked out.

The double vaccine should keep her well though. Try to remember that.

I know someone who has it and had covid after 2 jabs and seems to be doing fine. They treated it as they would any respiratory infection, so antibiotics in case of secondary bacterial infection. They felt pretty unwell for a few days but weren't hospitalised.

Thank you @Whathefisgoingon and @FlagsFiend for your replies.

It’s such a worry! I’ve tried to research online but the information available is very vague. It’s always nice to come on here to hear people’s real life, first hand experiences. Thank you.

Oops posted too soon.
I’m on a forum for people with bronchiectasis and quite a few have contracted covid. Like me, they said it’s similar to when we’ve had other nasty infections.
Hang in there x
