Quick question on Pfizer jab

WaltzingTilda · 14/08/2021 11:38

It will be 8 weeks since my first Pfizer dose next Friday. I am wondering if it is okay to get my 2nd jab done today (so I would really be having about a 7 week gap instead of 8 weeks)?Would that be a problem? I think in Aus they are having less than 7 week gaps anyway ? Anyone else got their second doses with a gap less than 8 weeks and had no issues? Tia x

Teen just had one and was told to come back between 6-8 weeks for second dose.

I had mine 6 weeks apart with no problems.

Thank you for replying Flowers. That's great news. I've just saw a walk in clinic closeby so I think I am gonna get my jab done today x

As far as I can work out it depends on your local area! I was not allowed to have mine at less than 8 weeks, walk in centre wouldn't let me and couldn't make an appt until exactly 8 weeks. My sibling in another county was given their appt for 4 weeks time at their first jab appt.

DD emailed GP if she could have second vaccine early (nothing to do with health, personal) - GP phoned back within an hour to confirm DD could have it at five weeks - during the conversation she actually stated with the Delta variant she felt it was a good idea to have the second vaccine as soon as possible anyway.

Thank you so much all for replying. I am only 6 days short of my 8 weeks , so hopefully they'll give me my 2nd dose

Our local walk in centre says 8weeks, but will include 'rising' 8 weeks (ie under a week to go)

grapewine · 14/08/2021 11:55

Mine was 6 weeks apart in Denmark.

H1978 · 14/08/2021 11:58

Our drop in centre specifies an 8 week gap
