That's hideous, you're not only denying patients a potentially life saving treatment, you're giving them a false sense of security that may have led to them to stopping shielding etc.

Reminds me of the surgeon who carried out "breast sparing" surgeries for cancer patients which led to deaths without their consent.

There's only two reasons for doing this:

1. Covid denier/anti vaccine/conspiracy theorist.

2. Sold the actual vaccine elsewhere or administered to family.

Given the article is saying they think 8k people were affected, it’s not about using the vaccines on family. I guess a black market in vaccines may exist but it looks like ‘ideological’ reasons. Very sad. Hope she gets charged with murder should anyone have died.

I read, they thought she accidentally dropped a box of vials on the floor and then was covering up her error as vaccine was in such short supply she was anxious she would get in trouble. But then they couldnt work out who got saline, who got vaccine, so they have had to revaccinate thousands of people.

In April the nurse had admitted giving saline to six people to cover up the fact that she had dropped a vaccine vial on the floor.

That's not what the report said. It said that there was more to it than the dropped vaccine. Not sure the dropped vaccine even happened. It seemed to be her immediate cover story that didn't quite cut it.

I was going to say this. How could this even happen! She doesn't need to be arrested if anyone dies as has been suggested. She needs to be struck off and punished appropriately for serious medical misconduct! It doesn't matter if anyone dies or not...

Couldn't she be prosecuted for manslaughter if someone does die? I suppose proving it would be difficult though.

I wonder how it became known that she had done this? Did she admit it, or is Germany tracking vaccine efficacy in terms of antibodies and noted that one batch had failed (or something else - I'm no expert).

It's horrendous. There has been a lot of noise about the vaccine being a medical procedure and that is a reason to refuse - surely the same thing applies to saline solution?

I’m guessing someone noticed something not quite right on site, I can’t think how else it would have become apparent at this stage otherwise? Or a care home experiencing a level of illness they didn’t expect?

I’d be interested to know how it was spotted too.

What happened to all the unused vials as well? They should all be accounted for, any losses are recorded (dropped vials, not quite enough in a vial to get all 6 doses out), maybe they did a stocktake and realised they had way over what they should have? We even get checked putting the used vials into the sharps bin so she can’t have just thrown them away.

I wonder what the checking procedures are in Germany? I can't see how anyone could get away with this in a UK vaccine centre with all the checking, recording batch numbers etc.
