Negative LTF

But temperature of 38.4, headache, body feels very fluey (goosebumps all over me but skin burning hot). DH has a positive ltf snd just a sore throat.

I've been for a pcr this evening and DH will go tomorrow but am I just doing them wrong? I do where my tonsils should be and right up my nose 10 seconds each.

LFTs are a bit crap. That's why its a PCR you need if you have symptoms

LFT are for people without the main symptoms

Couple of things:
You might not be doing it right - either the sampling or the extraction.
You might not have covid - or still have a low viral load.
LFT miss quite a few infections. They are potentially useful for mass screening - and might get some pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic cases isolating. But they will also miss some. PCR is better (but not infallible).
The positive lines can be really faint. About to be insulting - are you reading it accurately, after 30mins?

Definitely reading it right as I have to report the results for work so I'm used to waiting the 30 minutes. I dab the swap in the liquid then squeeze it between the sides of the tube like it says in the instructions. We'll see what the PCR says tomorrow

I've done 2 ltfs this morning one has a faint line the other has nothing. Hopefully my pcr results will come in soon but I do feel quite poorly now.

I'm waiting for a pcr result. Tested yesterday at 5pm but my lateral flow was a very clear positive.

My PCR came back negative, husbands positive. But I have had a positive lft and out of the two of us I'm the most poorly.

I can't even keep water inside me I haven't eaten and have just been sipping water which then gives me e most horrendous cramps and I need to go to loo. This has happened about 11 times in the night. I don't know if I need to speak to 111?
