Husband pinged

I’m sure this has been asked a billion times but what would you do:
Husband has just been pinged by the app that he has to isolate for six days.
He’s done lateral flow tests, about to do a drive through one to make sure and has zero symptoms.

Is the app a load of bollocks?

Maybe, maybe not.

No harm in him doing a test anyway.

You will be told on here that app pings are advisory so delete the app and if he has no symptoms no need to isolate.

The app is just guidance not legally binding. Haven’t they just reduced the criteria so fewer people have to isolate? I’m wondering why he has the app if he is not planning on following the info.

I’ve been super strict throughout covid, my DH is ECV and the vaccine may not work on him but I can understand why people would choose to do daily lateral flow tests in this situation.

@Pissinthepottyplease I didn’t say he wasn’t following the info. I was asking if the app was essentially nonsense because I’ve read conflicting reports across the board that it’s not accurate and has gone a bit OTT with the “sensitivity” etc.
Apparently he came into contact with someone last week and only just got pinged in the last hour.
