Testing Negative

My whole family is isolating. DH, DS and DD all tested positive. I tested negative. I had several lateral flow tests(at work) and a PCR test and all are negative..I have a headache, achy muscles and I'm congested- same as DH. Also keep getting this burned phantom smell..
We have done a lateral flow test today and again DH is positive and I'm negative..
I'm doule vaccinated..

Is it possible to have covid and keep testing negative??

Is it possible to have covid and keep testing negative?? The quoted sensitivity of the Innova lateral flow test is 57.5%, meaning that it'll miss 42.5% of positive cases. They'll be a much smaller probability of being positive and getting two negative tests, and and even smaller chance of three negative tests.

Yes. My laterals were negative for a good few days after symptoms. I never had a weird smell, for me smell and taste didn’t go until day 5/6, everyone is different though

To add I also had a PCR on the Monday as DD had a temp and I drove her to test centre so they suggested I test. DS positive Tuesday, headache starts Wednesday evening. Lateral flow not positive (then very lightly) until Saturday evening, PCR positive on the Sunday

Yes! I’m in a house with two other positive cases, I’ve had symptoms since Wednesday and only today have I finally had a positive LFT. I’m assuming my (3rd of the week) PCR will now be positive too

@TheDinosaurTrain

Did you have negative PCRs too? Even with symptoms?

TheDinosaurTrain · 07/08/2021 20:31

Yes, two negative PCRs, one with symptoms and one without.

Yes, last week a friend had symptoms but no positive result until day 3. Although double jabbed, she’s quite poorly. Her two DDs were the same - symptoms for days before testing positive.

I had symptoms, tested negative every day for a week with lateral flow tests, from different batches as well, and negative on day 4 of symptoms with pcr test which was done at drive through.
I’m either weird and not being picked up in tests or I haven’t had it. Still no smell and taste 3 weeks later.

This came up on another thread too, it is worrying, the tests are possibly less good at picking up the Delta variant ?
