Another 10 days until double jabbed people don't have to self isolate.

Yet another postive close contact this time a aide not a shitty minister.

Once again excuses and thinks he doesn't have to follow the rules.
They must seem jolly inconvenient for him.

PHE admit today double vaccinated people can still catch and transmit the virus.
You would think with wife pregnant again be be more cautious that and shaking hands with hundred during 1st wave and getting severe covid himself.

Well there seems to be a difference of opinion between The Guardian's source and the Prime Minuster's office on whether he was indeed a close contact.

I hope T&T will, ort this out rapidly and impartially, based on the account of the person who has tested positive.

Hundreds and thousands of us have had to SI, no matter how inconvenient (personally or professionally) and changes to the requirements are still a full 10 days away.

Good. I'd rather he was at least appearing to do his job.

Bryonyshcmyony · 06/08/2021 17:31

If you didn't have the app you didn't need to self isolate BTW.

You do if test and trace contact you (bitter experience)
Bryonyshcmyony · 06/08/2021 17:33

Ah yes my biggest fear

3asAbird · 06/08/2021 17:41

CNN went with it too

I had no idea the definition and guidance of what constitute a close contact is different to England.

By Scottish definition hes a close contact and he was in Scotland at that time.
Don't they also have separate track and trace.

And when they contact you there's no way of questioning whether you are a close contact as far as I can see, so I guess if he and the aide's 'recollections differ' then the infor the aide gave trumps his.

We weren't sure that we really were close contact as the friend who gave our name seemed to have misunderstood the rules. The test and trace caller sympathised but said they hadn't got any information and once we had been called that was it, we had to isolate. So we missed our holiday.

I assume the same rules apply to Boris...

Its slightly different but I’ve had fun and games with T&T not understanding their own rules on isolation (of multiple household members subsequently testing positive). I’ve blocked them now. I can’t be doing with training new contact tracers who disagree, check with their team leader, then come back and say “oh you’re right but I can’t change the date on your isolation text so just ignore it”. I think it’s awful that people are put under 9 days house arrest simply on the word of the positive person who might not even know how far 2m actually is.
Skiptheheartsandflowers · 06/08/2021 18:28

I for one am not at all surprised that BJ has decided he doesn't have to follow the rules that other people are supposed to. Doesn't make it any better of course. But he's made it pretty clear by now he thinks rules are for the little people. Vote accordingly next time.

If I were Mrs. Johnson I'd be off to whichever house he wasn't in.

My Dd is a hairdresser. They are all double jabbed in her salon. Dd has also had covid. She is unable to work again, as someone in the salon tested positive, so they all have to isolate again for 10 days. I’m not fully aware of all the details, but she gets no income because she is self employed. She fell through the net with furlough, even though she pays all her taxes. They did disable the app but wee contacted through test and trace.
This whole thing is a farce! And much worse than last year! When we didn’t have the vaccines!

The same day last year we have 7 day average of 759 cases a day. Today we have 7 day average of 22k. We had just come out lockdown last summer. People were cautious and wearing masks Schools were off. No vaccines.

The issue is not the app or even track and trace the issue is we we have too high infections as we removed all restrictions.
This will get worse when they say double jabbed don't have isolate or quarantine and school open without bubbles.
We prioritising peoples holidays over keeping varients out.

Alok Sharma is worse travelling to red zones and not isolating IMO. That is shameful.

I should imagine Boris’s immunity is high and he had possible contact. It’s up to the aide to inform T&T and he’s not legally obliged to SI if he isn’t informed.

DS has had to SI 3x due to school contacts, only one I would say was risky. He said he was ‘nowhere near’ the other two so it really is the infected person who gives the info - they have to remember who was near them etc. DS said others did not have to SI who were just as close as he was, as the infected person forgot they were there.
