I’m 34 double jabbed no health conditions. Husband 32 didn’t want the vaccine, relatively healthy not over weight but always gets whatever’s going round and gets a temp etc. Has sinus issues but no breathing issues. Did my lateral flow for work Tuesday and it was positive! No symptoms at all. Husband woke with a migraine.. did his lateral flow.. negative.

I did two more lateral flows also negative.

We went and did PCR’s and stupidly got them mixed up in car before handing back but one is positive! We are isolating of course. I’ve felt fine but had a tickly cough… still both have negative lateral flows. 3 year old son developed chesty cough last night, not subjecting him to a test as makes no difference now.

We just did two home PCR test kits and sent off as I’m interested to know who is positive!

I have massive health anxiety and losing my husband has been a mega fear of mine. He’s totally fine now as migraine went the same day and nothing since. I tried to persuade him to have the vaccine but he doesn’t trust it and refuses to put it in his body. I’m so scared he will be one of those young ones who dies.

Confusing how so many lateral flows are negative since that one faint line… makes me not trust them!

Just need some reassurance maybe from people who have had it and been ok. Just waiting for us all to develop awful symptoms! Literally dreaded this coming since we first heard about it! Btw I have had CBT in past for my anxiety but I still really struggle as this seems like a hard one to cope with!

Thanks for listening to my waffle!

LFT are not much good if you have symptoms.

Bobholll · 06/08/2021 16:17

LFT’s still work if you have symptoms, they are just not super accurate. They don’t just stop working the minute you get a cough! It’s quite likely they will show positive with symptoms but also a chance they might not, which is why you back up with a PCR, which the OP has done, twice apparently.

You’ll be fine OP. It’s just an illness much like any other really.. you deal with it the same as something grim like norovirus. You solider on & come out the other side! Your husband is more of risk not being jabbed but he’s 32 & healthy. The overwhelming chances are he’ll be fine too. Given your anxiety about covid, I’m surprised your husband wouldn’t get the jab for your sake!

Thanks for your reply. It’s just annoying how inaccurate they are as it doesn’t make you trust either them or the PCR!

Re my hubby, I know! It’s infuriating but he’s very much against putting something that’s not been rigorously tested in his body and has said if he had a reaction to it, would I then feel bad persuading him! He has major anxiety about having the vaccine and I have about him not! We try not to talk about it too much as he knows how I feel. However, I hoped we wouldn’t need to worry as we wouldn’t catch it but here we are!!

Doesn’t help our families are so pro the vaccine and make me feel worse about the fact he hasn’t had it.. but he’s his own man. I can’t force him. Just have to hope and pray we will get through this. Thanks again.

Just wanted to say I understand the worry.
Fully jabbed, with no health conditions, makes you very low risk.

Hope you feel better soon. Flowers

No advice, but at least when you get your results back, one of you will be over halfway through isolation.

This is true! The isolation is hard work with a 3 year old full of beans.. although I’m grateful I only work part time from home! Plus we are all feeling ok… at the moment!
