Lots of non-vaxxed Brits defying holiday quarantine rules?

A friend of a friend is in Portugal on hols at the moment and has said she’ll be coming to my friend’s birthday party which is about 5 days after she returns. This friend of a friend is not vaxxed and from what I can gather, with Portugal being on the amber list, won’t she officially have to quarantine for 10 days after, therefore she’ll be breaking the rules by going to party?

If so, it’s made me wonder, how many other non vaxxed people like her are wandering around after returning from holiday, defying the quarantine rules? How heavily is it regulated? Will she get caught?

You can do a test to release on day 5 so may not be breaking any rules.

Highly likely she'll get caught. We did 10 days at home after getting back from Greece early July. T&T rang both of us every single day. I wouldn't have risked going out. Sods law it would have ended up in a fine 😕

We were only contacted sporadically during our post Greece isolation - I think I had 4 or 5 calls. We flew back on Saturday night and had our 5 day Test to Release on the Thursday morning. Our negative result came through in the early hours of Friday morning so we were free to go out and about on Friday. We only actually had to quarantine for 5 days - Sunday to Thursday

I think it is random as to how often you are contacted, I wonder if staffing levels in Serco affect this.

Missing a birthday party is a small thing to do if it means you can go on holiday.
